The Team   

Francis Berger


Owner of South Shore Farm since 1999, Francis has acquired a reputation for excellence and quality in both the National and International equestrian scene.


Some highlights of his career include:


  1. -Individual Champion at the North American Young Rider Championships

  2. -Member of the Gold Medal Team at the North American Young Rider Championships

  3. -4th at the World University Young Rider Championships in Italy

  4. -Trainer of the Year in Quebec in 1999

  5. -The only Quebec trainer to have trained 3 different riders who were “short listed” on the Canadian Team

  6. -Trainer of the 2006 Canadian Champion

  7. -Trainer of Best Canadian Junior rider 2005

  8. -Trainer of Silver Medal North American Junior Young Rider Quebec Team 2007

  9. -Trainer of the FEQ Horse of the Year in 2009

  10. -Breeder and Trainer of Top Canadian Bred 5 year old 2009


Francis is a level 3 certified trainer by the Fédération Equestre du Quebec. His students are competitive on the Quebec and Ontario provincial circuits throughout the summer as well as at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida during the winter months.


He is Internationally renown for finding and training top horses.


Francis has also been instrumental in the development of Equus Integral, the exclusive Canadian distributor for the complete European based lines: Cavalor, Devoucoux, and Trust Equestrian .

Boarding   

Our equestrian boarders are housed in well lit and well ventilated 12’ x 14’ concrete stall which are lined with rubber mats. Weather permitting outdoor turnout is available in both grass and sand paddocks.


Included in the basic monthly fee is:


  1. -Feed 3 x day

  2. -Daily care and observation

  3. -3 turnouts per week

  4. -Access to indoor and outdoor riding rings

  5. -An individual locker for equipment


Daily turnouts and other care and training services are available for various rates.


Outdoor boarding is also available for young horses and brood-mares. The paddocks are equipped with run-in shelters, running, heated water and feed racks.

Training & Lessons   

We offer various training options, from the starting of young horses under saddle to coaching at Amateur to Grand-prix show jumping.


Private and semi-private lessons.


Coaching at Provincial, National and International competition levels throughout the summer is provided, as well as at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida throughout the winter months. Full grooming is provided if needed for all clients and their horses for the duration of the show.
